Why Warrington Town's next away game will kick off earlier than usual
WARRINGTON Town’s away fixture this weekend will kick off earlier than usual.
It has been confirmed this afternoon that Yellows’ trip to Hereford on Saturday will get underway at 1pm – two hours earlier than the normal 3pm slot.
Town confirmed they had agreed to a request from their hosts to bring kick-off forward due to floodlighting issues at their Edgar Street home ground, with the new time having been ratified by the National League.
Yellows will be looking to complete a league double over the Bulls having beaten them 2-0 at the Cal.Delivery Stadium back in October, with Evan Gumbs and Josh Amis on target.
The game starts a run of four consecutive National League North away fixtures for Paul Carden’s side as they bid to move away from the relegation zone – they are currently three points clear of the bottom four following Saturday’s 2-1 loss to King’s Lynn Town having played more games than all of the teams around them.
The trip to Hereford is followed by their first ever visit to Kidderminster Harriers on January 18 before crucial away games against fellow strugglers Farsley Celtic (January 25) and Needham Market (February 1).
The venue for the Farsley game is still to be confirmed – the Yorkshire side have not played at their home ground all season after problems installing their new artificial surface.
The Celts had been playing home games at Buxton FC’s Silverlands ground, but the official groundshare agreement between the sides ran out at the turn of the year.
