Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Willian is being tipped with a return to Fulham as the January transfer window rapidly reaches its conclusion.

The popular figure at Stamford Bridge left Chelsea for Arsenal on a free transfer in 2020 but then lasted just a year before returning to Corinthians. After a year back in his home country, Willian came back to London to join Fulham at Craven Cottage.

His two-year stint with the Whites was successful, but he decided to switch to Olympiacos in Greece last summer. However, after just two starts for the Greek side, Willian decided to terminate his contract with the Athens club at the beginning of January - leading to speculation over his immediate future.

As a free agent, he does not have to sign for a new club before the window closes at 11pm tonight. It appears that he could well have already found a new club to join, though.

According to Sky Sports News, Fulham are now close to agreeing a deal for the 36-year-old to rejoin them. While negotiations are ongoing, Willian has decided to head to Stamford Bridge to watch his old club face West Ham in the Premier League.

If the move to Fulham is confirmed, it would be unsurprising to see the forward favour a move back to the capital. In an interview with The London Evening Standard, hailed the city.

"To me, London is everything," Willian explained. "Me and my family love being Londoners.

"We are happy to be back and living in London. It is one of the best cities in the world."

If the Brazil forward was to make this move official before the weekend, Willian could make his second debut for Fulham on Saturday away at League One Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.
