Kelepi Tanginoa has been given the nod by Willie Peters after making his matchday side for Hull KR's first competitive game of the off-season. The forward has nailed down a bench spot for the Challenge Cup game against York Knights, retaining the spot he held for the majority of last season.

Peters has named a strong side, arguably his strongest possible, and that features four debutants. Tom Davies, Micky McIlorum, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Rhyse Martin will all wear the red and white from the start during their first appearances for the club. Otherwise, the side has a very familiar look to it. Peta Hiku, Oliver Giladrt and Joe Burgess complete the threequarter line, with Mikey Lewis and Tyrone May in the halves.

Sauaso Sue retains the starting role while his starting partner from last year, Jai Whitbread, drops to the bench to make way for Waerea-Hargreaves. McIlorum is given the starting berth at hooker over Jez Litten. Elsewhere, Dean Hadley is on the bench and it will be fascinating to see how both he and Tanginoa are used. Both are capable of playing in multiple positions in the pack and while Tanginoa did regularly come off the bench and play in the back-row last year, both Rhyse Martin and James Batchelor are proven 80-minute performers in the position.

That would hint at Tanginoa potentially having a sting in the middle, where he has previously played for Wakefield Trinity. However, today's game will give us an indication of Peters' thoughts.
