Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has been suspended for two games after being charged with misconduct following an altercation after his side's 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town.

Although Rayan Ait-Nouri was sent off in the aftermath of the match, referee Simon Hooper didn't spot the Brazilian, who was caught delivering a blow to the back of the head of an Ipswich security guard before reaching out and pulling his glasses off his face.

He was subsequently charged for misconduct, although he was allowed to feature against Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, scoring twice.

However, the FA have since handed him a two-match ban and fined him £80,000 after he admitted the charge.

As a result, Cunha will miss his side's upcoming home game against Nottingham Forest, as well as their trip to Bristol City in the FA Cup. He will be eligible to feature again when they travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday, January 15th.

The 25-year-old was facing a stint on the sidelines regardless of his ban, having been withdrawn at half time in Sunday's 2-2 draw at Spurs. Manager Vitor Pereira is hopeful that it won't be a hamstring injury.
