Wolves are not expected to sell star player Matheus Cunha in the January transfer window despite interest from a handful of Premier League clubs.

The 25-year-old has been a shining light for Wolves in an otherwise dismal season, netting 10 goals and providing four assists in 21 Premier League outings.

This impressive form has caught the attention of numerous Premier League outfits during the current transfer period, with Nottingham Forest and Arsenal rumoured to be mulling over bids. However, no official offers or contact for Cunha have been received by Wolves, and according to PA news agency, the club is adamant that he is not up for sale and will remain at Molineux beyond the February 3 deadline.

With two and a half years remaining on his current contract, the midlands club, who are set to host Arsenal on Saturday, are said to be relaxed about the situation. Wolves have recently initiated talks with the Brazilian about a new contract, but this is more of a reward for his stellar performances this season rather than a move to secure his immediate future.

Cunha, who joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2023 initially on loan, has been instrumental since his arrival. He has had to witness key players like Pedro Neto, Matheus Nunes and Ruben Neves depart in recent times.

Consequently, Wolves' fortunes have taken a hit on the field, leaving them languishing in 17th place in the Premier League table, just above the relegation zone on goal difference.
