Wolves have seen two bids for Austria international defender Kevin Danso knocked back by French club Lens.

Wanderers initially made an offer of £16 million before upping it to £18m, plus bonuses, for the giant centre-back.

Danso is a long-time target at Molineux and the Premier League strugglers are desperate to get him. It is understood he is keen on the move but Lens are holding out, determined not to sell this month.

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has, unsurprisingly, earmarked his backline as needing urgent replacements. Only Southampton, who sit bottom of the table, have conceded more goals than Wolves with 53 compared to 52.

Meanwhile, Leicester and Wolves are both keen to snap up Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain if the midfielder is allowed to leave Besiktas, it has been claimed.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined the Turkish club in 2023 after an injury-hit time at Liverpool. He was a Premier League and Champions League winner at Anfield, but was limited to just 13 appearances in his final season there.

Injury issues have persisted at his latest club, with a torn thigh muscle keeping him out for several months last season. He has yet to complete a full 90 minutes this term, though a change of manager could help kick-start his career in the Super Lig.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now in the dugout and handed Oxlade-Chamberlain a chance to impress from the start against Antalyaspor on Sunday. If the new boss decides to cash in, though, it appears there could be a willing taker in England.

Sources claim Leicester and Wolves are both considering a loan move for the 31-year-old. Championship sides Leeds and Sheffield United have also been linked, leaving his apparent options as a relegation battle or a promotion push.
