Wolves vs Arsenal postponement latest as snow and ice Met Office weather warnings issued
Wolverhampton Wanderers should be able to host Arsenal at Molineux on Saturday afternoon as scheduled despite Met Office weather warnings being in force over the weekend.
Storm Éowyn brought strong winds and some disruption across much of the United Kingdom on Friday. In the West Midlands conurbation, gusts have exceeded 50mph, causing power cuts, disrupting rail travel and felling trees.
However, the forecast is that those winds will be reduced overnight. Within hours of that yellow warning ending, though, another will come into force for ice, which has a medium likelihood and low impact.

They will be in place for much of Saturday morning, and icy stretches will lead to hazardous travelling conditions in some areas because of clear skies following overnight and early morning showers. Those patches are expected to be on some untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths.
The Met Office acknowledges that those icy surfaces could cause some injuries from slips and falls, so anyone out and about on Saturday morning is encouraged to plan to leave at least five minutes earlier than usual to reduce the risk of accidents from rushing. They advise using main roads when possible as they are more likely to be treated and thus less slippery.
Motorists are also encouraged to check road conditions, and anyone using public transport should be aware of any changes to bus, train and tram timetables. Equally, they recommend preparing for weather warnings to change in your area.
The warning was issued at 9:40 am on Friday and ends at 10 am, five hours before kick-off at Molineux. Therefore, the match, which is the first in the Premier League this weekend alongside Brighton & Hove Albion vs Everton, Liverpool vs Ipswich Town, Southampton vs Newcastle United and Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest - appears unlikely to be affected by the weather.
