WARRINGTON & Vale Royal College are celebrating two of their students being selected for the 2025 Warrington Wolves Women’s squad.

To commemorate the achievements of Imogen Roberts and Talicia Blythe, their framed shirts now hang proudly in the college’s Sport, Military & Emergency Services Academy, to inspire current and future students to dream big and aim high.

Their journey to the Wolves first team has been one of hard work and determination.

Roberts, who started playing rugby in her early primary school years with Woolston Rovers, reflected on her pathway to success.

"Talicia and I both played for the Warrington Wolves community team where we were told about trials for the academy,” she said.

“They must have been pleased with our performance, because we both then received unconditional offers for the first team!"

Roberts credits the sport course at Warrington & Vale Royal College for shaping her both as an athlete and a person.

"My favourite thing about studying sports at Warrington & Vale Royal College is the variety,” she said.

“We learn everything from coaching and mentoring to nutrition and exercise psychology and I’ve had so many amazing opportunities, like visiting the English Institute of Sport and working with children with disabilities. Seeing how sport can positively impact people’s lives is incredible!"

For Blythe, her love for rugby started later but grew quickly.

She said: "I started playing rugby in 2019 when I was asked to join my high-school team.

“I fell in love with the game and decided to take it further, which led me to join Warrington Wolves’ community club in 2020, where I met Imogen."
