Wrexham January transfer plans revealed with Ryan Reynolds' backing
Phil Parkinson has lifted the lid on his January transfer talks with Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The manager was scheduled to speak to the Hollywood stars earlier this week and has now confirmed the League One club is actively looking for new recruits ahead of the transfer window.
With the Red Dragons currently third in League One, Parkinson insists he is in no rush to sign players unless they fit into his plans.

However, there has been speculation in recent weeks that Wrexham could be prepared to spend big next month, with Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford reportedly on their target list.
It comes as fresh investment by the New York-based Allyn family, who acquired a minority stake in the club in October, has sparked hopes of achieving a third successive promotion to the Championship.
Speaking to the BBC, Parkinson said: “We're not standing still - we're looking and speaking with agents all the time.
“We've had our eye on the ball for quite a while with the January transfer window in mind.
“Everybody in this window will be assessing their squad, looking at the market and looking to add quality.
“Quite often with those quality players, you'll get two or three clubs competing for that signature. We'll be in the mix if the right player becomes available.”
Parkinson has often played the long game over signings since joining Wrexham in the summer of 2021, sometimes leaving it until the final days of the window to secure key targets.
While he has received strong financial backing from Reynolds and McElhenney, he said the pair are still keen to achieve value for money.
Parkinson said: “With Rob and Ryan, our owners, we've always identified the players then explained why we feel player X would improve us, what he's going to cost, wages and made a case for that. Then we've made the decisions accordingly.
“They know what we'd like to do but equally we're not going to do something for the sake of it and that's really, really important.
“Sometimes that temptation to go and sign somebody, it can disrupt what you've got already and the player you're bringing in doesn't significantly improve you.”
Reinforcing his relaxed approach ahead of January, he added: “If that opportunity comes along, when we see the right player, the right position and the right value then obviously we will do our best to bring somebody in.
“If not we've got a good squad. We've got players that are not in the team at the moment waiting patiently for their chance.”
