Wrexham tipped as perfect destination for Leeds United star ahead of January transfer window
Wrexham have been tipped as the perfect destination for an out-of-favour Leeds United star to revive his career.
Patrick Bamford was hot property a few seasons ago after scoring 17 goals in the Premier League during the 2020/21 campaign.
However, the striker who United bought from Middlesbrough for £7m in 2018 has since seen his career blighted by injuries.

The 31-year-old has yet to make a start in the Championship this season and has failed to score in any of his eight substitute appearances.
With Bamford down the pecking order at Elland Road, pundits from the BBC Leeds United podcast "Don't Go To Bed Just Yet" have been discussing his future ahead of the January transfer window.
Debating whether it might be better for him to move on, presenter Adam Pope said: “You’ve got to remember with Bamford that he is fit now and he is being somewhat overlooked.
“When he came back last year, he had that run where he got seven goals in a 15-game unbeaten spell.
“The mill starts to turn now, and who could spend big money to get Patrick Bamford out of Leeds United?
“It’s not going to happen in the Championship. I don't think a Premier League club is going to take the risk, so what does that leave elsewhere?”
Co-host Jonny Buchan replied: “Well, it leaves big spenders in League One, where we know that they're allowed to spend differently because of the way the regulations work at that level.”
It was at this point that an unlikely figure chimed in to suggest Wrexham as the most likely move for Bamford.
The idea was touted by Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix, a big Leeds United fan who regularly appears on the podcast.
In response, Buchan said: “Well, there you go. Wrexham are a side in the mix in League One and you wonder whether they might have a look.”
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson is due to hold transfer discussions with club owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney this week.
Whether the Red Dragons could afford Bamford, who Transfermarkt currently values at just under £3.5m, remains to be seen.
Buchan said Leeds' lack of back-up options in attack could also prove to be a barrier.
He added: “The other point is, can they afford to let him go in January if they're not going to go out and spend money to buy a number nine?
“If Patrick Bamford does go…that leaves you with two strikers there and that leaves you very short if one of those gets an injury or anything like that.”
