Wrexham want Leeds United striker in January as Patrick Bamford decision made
League One side Wrexham are plotting a January move for a Leeds United striker and, no, it isn't Patrick Bamford.
Reportedly it is Joe Gelhardt that the Welsh side are looking to sign to their squad, which boasts a forward line-up of Paul Mullin, Steven Fletcher and Jack Marriott amongst others.
The youngster joined from Wigan Athletic in 2020 for an undisclosed fee. He has played over 50 times since moving to Elland Road and had a loan spell with Sunderland during the 2022/23 season.

Gelhardt initially signed a four-year contract when but signed an extension in August 2022 - extending his stay West Yorkshire until 2027. This term, the forward has only played the three times for Daniel Farke's side with his only start coming in the Carabao Cup.
The team owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were linked with the Bamford earlier in the month. However, the possibility of Gelhardt moving to Wales seems a lot more likely to happen, but Rangers are providing some competition.
Bamford, who has played almost 200 times for the Whites, has had his game time restricted this term. Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph have regularly lined-up top for Daniel Farke's side.
Despite struggling for minutes, it is doubtful he will move away from Leeds this January. Journalist Graeme Bailey has suggested it is actually Gelhardt who the League One promotion chasers want.
He said; “Patrick Bamford is an interesting name, but from what I am told Leeds are not in a huge hurry to lose anyone this January, it is all about promotion for them," he said. "And whilst Wrexham have a big budget, I don’t see how they could afford Bamford who is still on a Premier League contract.
"I do expect Wrexham to do something and I am actually told they could raid Leeds for another player, as they like Joe Gelhardt, although they are not alone and it would not be easy to land him either. But I understand Wrexham have been offered a host of names and are confident of getting the right man.”
