Wrexham's James McClean issues 'no crap taken' statement as club charged
Wrexham's James McClean has shared a cryptic social media message after a post-match scuffle saw the club charged with failing to control players.
The fracas broke out following the final whistle of the Red Dragons' disappointing 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
The flashpoint came as footage shared on social media appeared to show Rovers' James Wilson shoving Wrexham midfielder Ollie Rathbone.

A melee then ensued as both teams got involved, with McClean right in the thick of it.
The Wrexham captain and his teammate Stephen Fletcher received yellow cards after the whistle, along with Wilson.
Posting on Instagram after the match, the former Republic of Ireland international shared an image of him and Fletcher, along with the caption: "No crap taken, no apology issued" followed by the shoulder shrug emoji.
Both clubs have since been charged by the FA with failing to ensure their players "did not behave in a way which is improper and/or provocative" and have been given until Monday, 30 December to respond.
An FA spokesperson said: “Bristol Rovers and Wrexham have been charged following a mass confrontation during their EFL League One fixture on Saturday, 21 December 2024.
“It is alleged that, following the conclusion of the fixture, both clubs failed to ensure that their players did not behave in a way which is improper and/or provocative. Both clubs have until Monday 30 December 2024 to respond to the charge.”
Phil Parkinson's side led for most of Saturday's League One tie following an 18th minute strike by Elliot Lee.
However, Wrexham failed to take further chances and were punished by a late header from Rovers striker Promise Omochere.
The result leaves the north Wales side third in the table heading into the Christmas period, three points behind league leaders Birmingham City, who also have two games in hand over them.
