Wycombe told to make Bolton 'a significant offer' for Aaron Morley in January
It is understood that Wycombe Wanderers must pay Bolton Wanderers 'around £500,000' to secure the services of Aaron Morley in January.
The 24-year-old joined the Chairboys on loan in August and has proven to be a huge hit.
He has started 15 of his 16 league outings in the centre of the park, as the Adams Park side have stormed into the automatic places in League One.
However, Bolton have made it ‘clear’ that if Morley were to remain in South Buckinghamshire, Wycombe must make a ‘significant offer’ next month.
If not, he will return to the Toughsheet Stadium.
It has been suggested that the fee is close to around £500,000.
Morley joined Bolton in January 2022 for a sum of £100,000.
Speaking to the Bolton News, manager Ian Evatt said: “I was really clear with what our stance is.
“If they want to keep him, they need to make us a significant offer - from our perspective, he just won’t stay there on loan.
“We will recall him and he will be part of our team and our squad unless they make us an offer we think meets his valuation.
“I have told them our valuation and now it is down to them to either meet it or not.”
Morley has played 20 times for the Chairboys in a number 6 role, which has allowed Josh Scowen to push forward.
This has been pivotal to Wycombe’s season, with the club scoring the most goals in the division so far with 43, whilst also having the highest goal difference with +21.
He also got himself on the scoresheet, as he scored Wanderers’ fifth in the recent 5-0 away hammering at Stockport County.
Evatt added: “Some of the things he needed to improve on, in my opinion, he has done.
“He is playing with confidence and that was important, that he found confidence again.
“But as we know, it is a completely different pressure playing for Wycombe than Bolton.
“The expectations are completely different, the amount of fans we have, and pressures of the big games.”
It has also been suggested that Morley ‘loves’ it at Wycombe, and has become a popular member of the squad.
He is expected to return to the team for the clash against Stevenage on Boxing Day.
