Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the signing of former Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich Albion left-winger Adam Reach.

The 32-year-old, who celebrates his birthday today, joins the Chairboys as a free agent after leaving the Baggies at the end of last season.

His arrival at Adams Park means he has become the club’s ninth new face this window, following Ryan Cole, Jonny Pettitt,  Anders Hagelskjær, Magnus Westergaard, Alex Lowry, James Berry, Sonny Bradley and Caleb Taylor.

He could be in line to make his debut for his new team this weekend when Wycombe take on Preston North End in the FA Cup.

Chief Football Officer Dan Rice told the club's website: “Adam is a player of vast experience which will be vital for us in achieving our objective this season and we’re really pleased to welcome him to the club.

“He carries a real goal threat in attacking positions but is also capable of playing deeper and at full-back so to have someone of his versatility will be a big help to the team.

“We’ve been working extremely hard on our recruitment, long before the window opened, and we’ll be ending the window in an extremely strong position once we’ve completed our business by 11pm tonight.”

Despite being a Newcastle United fan, Reach started his career with Middlesborough, playing 78 times across six seasons, scoring seven times.

Loan spells to Darlington, Shrewsbury Town, Bradford City and Preston soon followed, before he joined Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2016.

He would spend five years with the Hillsborough team, scoring 24 goals in 230 matches.

Reach has spent the last three years at West Brom, but he only featured 42 times across the previous two seasons.

Overall, he has played 470 career first-team games, and has scored 44 goals – these include several screamers from long-range.
