Caroline Fenton from Yahoo Sports hanging out with Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goddard, and not just the Philadelphia Eagles tight end, also Super Bowl champion Dallas Goddard.
How does that feel to here?
It's incredible to hear, you know, uh, it's been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, so having it finally come to fruition is is pretty special.
How does one celebrate a Super Bowl, anyhow?
We had a lot of fun, uh, in the postgame party, but, you know, I celebrated with my teammates, family, and friends, and uh it was super special and Uh, you know, it doesn't seem like it's gonna be slowing down anytime soon.
In the Super Bowl two years ago, lost to the same team that you beat on Sunday in the Super Bowl, and then you go back to last season, lost in the wildcard round of the playoffs.
I know those were devastating losses.
I know those obviously were not how you wanted your seasons to end, but what do you feel like you individually, this team as a whole, learned from those losses to kind of fuel a Super Bowl championship this season?
Yeah, going back to uh 2022 season when we lost, uh, you know, we didn't have to handle very much adversity, uh, last year, uh, we couldn't handle the adversity that was thrown at us late in the year and having the offseason to reflect, build on those things, um, I think.
That's what made this team so special.
Uh, any adversity that was thrown at us, we were able to handle, uh, people getting injured, the next man up mentality.
Uh, we did such a good job of that this year, and, uh, you know, we just had a complete team that was, uh, fully together, really connected, and uh it was really special to be part of.
It did kind of feel like that, like that chip on your shoulder mentality, that next man up mentality.
It feels a little bit like a trickle down effect from Jalen Hurts.
From the outside looking in at least, it feels like his mentality is just different.
His thought process is just different.
So from your perspective, you work with him every single day.
How is Jalen Hurts different from other quarterbacks or players that you've played with in the past.
My biggest quality that I think I respect of him is he's he's a true winner, you know, that's, that's the one stat he cares about.
He doesn't care about his passing yards, his passing touchdowns, uh, you know, he doesn't want to turn the ball over, that's the other one, but, uh, he cares about winning.
Uh, he puts us in great positions to win the games.
Uh, he makes the plays on 4 downs, uh, plays when we need it.
He he finds a way to put us in a successful position.
When we don't win, he's just worried about what he can do to help us win the next one.
I know that the goal, and I know that what's driving you now is to be that next dynasty, is to, to come back next season and recreate the magic that was this past season for the Eagles.
What gives you confidence in this team that you can run it back next year?
Yeah, it starts, uh, with the quarterback, you know, we got, we got a true winner at the quarterback position, or offensive line and defensive line.
We got a majority of those guys coming back and uh both of those two groups were so instrumental to our success this season.
So, uh, you know, we'll rely on them and uh trust that we're able to fill in the rest of the pieces, but uh if we can stay close, if we can stay connected, um, I think only good things can happen to this team.
Absolutely great things to come.
Dallas Goddard, Philadelphia Eagles tight end.
So obviously, You're best known for what you do on the gridiron, but what some people might not know is that you have struggled with plaque psoriasis for over 20 years.
So you are with us on behalf of Amgen to talk to others that are suffering from plaque psoriasis, kind of give them advice.
So tell us a little bit about that, your journey and uh why you're here with Amgen today.
Yeah, so for me, uh, I got diagnosed with psoriasis when I was about 10 years old, and, uh, it's been something I've been living with, trying to deal with ever since, you know, being in a locker room, uh, having to change all the time, uh, people see it, and I always tried to cover it up, hide it, but you can't do that forever.
I've done different things to try to Help my psoriasis and it's topicals, uh, but those were always hard, um, with my lifestyle, working out, having to shower, sweating it out, getting in cold tubs for recovery.
I was able to partner with AM and, uh, talk to a doctor about different ways that I can.
Find a treatment to fit into my lifestyle and I've been able to do that and it's been a game changer for me.
And, you know, I would just tell everybody to go to uh dallasgstory.com and uh hear more about my story and then uh make sure you talk to your doctor about finding the right, um.
Situation for you, the right uh medication for you for uh your plaque psoriasis and your lifestyle, something that will work for you because, uh, talking to your doctor is important and they'll have something for you.
Absolutely.
Dallas Goddard, thanks so much for hanging out with us and congratulations.
Thank you.
