KRYSTEN PEEK: It was the battle of Cinderellas, and this game did not disappoint. But it was the number nine seed in the East Region, Florida Atlantic, who came out on top defeating the number 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson, 78 to 70. It was a 3-point game with two minutes remaining, and Fairleigh Dickinson would not go away even after Florida Atlantic led for the majority of the game.

Every time FAU would make a run, FDU would make a big shot to close the gap. It was too little too late for the only 16 seed remaining in the tournament and 5' 8" senior guard Dmitri Roberts played with a ton of heart, finishing with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists in the loss.

The guard play of FAU sophomores Johnell Davis and Alijah Martin was the difference for the Owls as the pair combined for 43 points. And Davis had a huge and one play and a dunk with just over a minute left to put the Owls up by 10.

He also contributed 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals in the win, doing it all for FAU. The owls are headed to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. It will face number four Tennessee at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday.
