Arne Slot adds new Liverpool player to Champions League knockout phase roster
Liverpool has added young winger Rio Ngumoha to its Champions League roster ahead of the knockout phase. The former Chelsea talent was unable to feature in the group stages because he wasn't registered.
Ngumoha has been added to Arne Slot's squad after he joined the Reds after the registration date at the start of the season. Meanwhile, Tom Hill, who joined Harrogate Town in January, has been removed.
As is the case with Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo, Ngumoha does need to be registered in order to play in senior UEFA competitions despite being a youth player. That is because he has not been at Liverpool for two uninterrupted years yet.

There are no other changes to the Liverpool player list ahead of the knockout phase. The Reds did no incoming business in the winter market, keeping their powder dry ahead of the summer.
Among the already registered so-called "List B" players — those who are U21s and who have been at the club more two years or more — are Conor Bradley, Harvey Elliott, Jarell Quansah and James McConnell. McConnell impressed during the last European match that Liverpool played away at PSV, which helped convince Slot to stop him from going out on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Liverpool does not yet know who it will face in the last-16. It will be one of Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Monaco and Brest, all of whom must play in the play-off round that the Reds successfully avoided by being inside the top eight spots of the league table.
PSG must overcome Brest and AS Monaco will take on Benfica in the play-offs, with those matches being played in the next couple of midweeks. The draw for the last-16 will then take place on February 21, though Liverpool already knows it will play at Anfield second.
Liverpool.com says: Ngumoha is not likely to play a minute during the knockout phase but it will be a nice experience if he gets to be involved in a matchday squad. He could get another runout during the FA Cup tie with Plymouth this Sunday.
