Arsenal fans have been reacting to their new third kit – and it has not been positive.

The Gunners are entering the final year of their contract with kit suppliers Puma and released their alternative strip this morning.

Arsenal say their third kit has a ‘modern green’ base colour with navy trimmings, while Puma call it ‘Biscay Green’ with a ‘Peacoat Navy’ trim.

It is a strip that harks back to the ‘bluebottle’ kit from the early 1980s. The shorts are blue, while the socks are green and blue hoops.

They also add: “Our new shirt features a ‘W’ engineered into the shirt. The ‘W’ represents the attacking part of the famous WM formation introduced in the 1930s by Arsenal legend Herbert Chapman and is directly linked to the ‘M’ graphic from our new away shirt.”

But Arsenal fans have been having their say on social media and it does not look like they will be rushing out to buy the kit – with many criticising all three of their strips.

Some fans are calling for Arsenal to ‘announce Adidas’, while others say the training kits are far nicer than any of the match shirts.
