Arsenal XI vs Man City: Starting lineup, confirmed injuries and team news

Gabriel Jesus returns to the Arsenal team today for a reunion with old club Manchester City.

Gabriel Martinelli has failed to make the starting line-up having recently struggled with injury but Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes are both in the XI.

Saka had pulled out of the England squad with a minor muscle issue, while Gabriel withdrew from the Brazil squad after his Achilles flared up and compatriot Martinelli did the same due to a cut on his foot.

Mikel Arteta said on Friday that none of the trio had trained but there was a “chance” they would all nonetheless be available.

Jorginho has got the nod over Thomas Partey in central midfield while Kai Havertz starts up front, leaving Leandro Trossard and Martinelli on the bench.

Jakub Kiwior continues at left-back ahead of both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Arsenal have not won at defending champions City since 2015, when Arteta was still playing, and have lost their last eight games there by an aggregate score of 22-4.
