Ivan Rakitic has said he will get a tattoo on his forehead if Croatia win the World Cup.

The midfielder is one of Croatia’s star players and is bound to play a big part in the final, against France, on Sunday afternoon.

Although he is not as heavily tattooed as some footballers, Rakitic does have a couple of designs on his body already.

But not enough that his forehead is the only place for a new one and he did admit he would have to check with his wife.

“A tattoo after the World Cup final? I have a free space on my forehead,” Rakitic asked when questioned on the subject.

“God willing, we win, then I’ll have a tattoo there. But first I’ll ask my wife.”

Croatia knocked out England in the semi-finals to reach their first ever World Cup final, but some England fans got overexcited prior to that game and had already got tattoos proclaiming England as ‘World Cup winners’ done.

Yorkshire resident Jamie Richardson had a tattoo of the Jules Rimet trophy with the words ‘England 2018 World Cup winners’ enscribed over it and said he does not regret getting it done.

“F*ck getting rid of the tattoo I am English and I am proud. I am not changing for call and if anybody wants to say anything negative then I haven’t got time for you,” he wrote on Facebook.

“I have had an amazing few weeks and my little girl has loved it so to all you people thinking I need tattoo fixers jog on because in 50 years I will always remember the week I have had.”

Whether Rakitic goes through with his claim will become clearer if Croatia are successful against France, although you can’t help but feel his wife might have plenty to say about it.
