Chelsea finished their 2023/24 season with a 2-1 victory against Bournemouth to ensure the position of sixth in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino made two changes to his side that beat Brighton and it was a really front-foot start from the Blues. And they made their bright start told on 17 minutes with a goal of the season contender on the final day of the campaign.

Moises Caicedo found the back of the net from the halfway line for Chelsea, in what was his first goal for the club. That's the way it stayed as the teams headed into the half-time break, but the second period kicked off with a bang from the Blues.

Raheem Sterling somehow found a gap between Neto's legs to double the hosts' lead but Bournemouth offered an immediate response. Enes Unal's strike deflected off Benoit Badiashile and ended up beating Djordje Petrovic to halve the deficit.

However, it stayed 2-1 to Chelsea. Below, Bobby Vincent rates the players...

Djordje Petrovic - 6

The Serbian goalkeeper had a bit to do but not much that troubled him, really, apart from the goal. Petrovic could not really do anything about the deflected strike for the Bournemouth goal.

Trevoh Chalobah - 6.5

Chalobah, playing at right-back, was once again solid for the hosts. Considering it is not his 'natural' position, the defender does such a good job defensively.

Thiago Silva - 7

Bidding an emotional farewell, Silva, was great. His last dance and he was typically solid. Goodbye, Thiago.

Benoit Badiashile - 5

Overall, it has been a real positive end to the season for the Frenchman, who struggled earlier in the campaign. However, he was off it today. Some dodgy moments from the Frenchman, who was credited with an own goal in the second-half.

Marc Cucurella - 6

The Spaniard could not continue his exceptional recent form. But he was once again a real livewire. Makes plenty of interceptions when moving into midfield, too, which may go under the radar a bit.

Moises Caicedo - 8.5

Caicedo opened his goal scoring account for Chelsea in the best possible fashion. Final day of the season, halfway line, glorious sunshine - what more can you ask for? An unbelievable performance once again from the Ecuadorian.

Conor Gallagher - 6

The England international did not get involved as much as he would have liked. Energetic as ever, but failed to make too much of an impact when in possession.

Noni Madueke - 6

Madueke was quieter than usual. He's been brilliant in recent games at Stamford Bridge but was not able to continue that today. His performance wasn't disastrous by any means but he was a tad quiet.

Cole Palmer - 6

Chelsea's Player of the Season, and today's programme cover, was not his at his brilliant best today. But he was still creating things. A great ovation when he went off just before 90 minutes.

Raheem Sterling - 6

Sterling looked bright in his first start since March. Does really well for his goal, even though his strike was not the cleanest. Great to see him back in the team and doing what he does best.

Nicolas Jackson - 6

The Senegalese striker did not get too many chances - which itself is a rarity.

Substitutes

Christopher Nkunku - 6

Nkunku was unable to make a similar impact than he did in the week.

Malo Gusto - 6

Gusto did fine when he came on. Must've been carrying a knock to explain why he didn't start.

Lesley Ugochukwu - 6

Good to see him back out there. A few more minutes for him today.

Cesare Casadei - N/A

Some minutes.
