Chelsea ready to renew Michael Olise interest in £60m Manchester United transfer battle

Chelsea have made Michael Olise one of their top summer transfer targets, with the Blues ready to rival Manchester United to land the Crystal Palace star.

Olise was tracked by Chelsea for all of last summer but eventually signed a new contract to stay at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea have continued to monitor his progress closely and are now thought to be prepared to renew their interest in the 22-year-old.

Olise is set to be a man in demand this summer, having registered 10 goals and six assists in an impressive season with Palace.

The former Chelsea academy star is understood to be happy at Selhurst and excited about their potential under new boss Oliver Glasner.

But he also holds the highest ambitions for his career and is open to possibilities.

Olise would prefer Champions League football in any switch, but he could also be tempted by the right proposal from a side looking to make strong moves forward.

Chelsea have confidence they can prove that they fall directly into that category, with Blues chiefs targeting a top-four finish under new head coach Enzo Maresca next season.

And the Blues will look to use the increased expectation around Maresca’s arrival in sales pitches to potential new recruits like Olise.

Chelsea want to balance their pursuit of the world’s best emerging talent with players already versed in the rigours and challenges of the Premier League.

Blues chiefs feel that Olise would prove a good fit at Stamford Bridge, slotting in alongside Noni Madueke as a strong option on the right wing.

Olise’s Palace contract runs until 2027 but he has a release clause in his deal thought to be in the region of £60million, though sources insist the exact details remain unclear amid a complex structuring.

Palace chiefs hope to retain both Olise and Eberechi Eze, especially given the feel-good factor around Glasner.

Chelsea are likely to focus first on outgoings, with Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah both strongly mooted for Stamford Bridge exits.

Tottenham and Aston Villa will push hard to sign England midfielder Gallagher this summer, but Chelsea want £50m for the 24-year-old.

Chelsea have continued their interest in Villa forward Jhon Duran but a part-exchange deal including Duran for Gallagher would appear a long shot.

The Blues are closing in a deal to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham after the former Manchester City centre-back completed a medical.
