'We are confident' - Man United receive Patrick Dorgu transfer twist after Lecce decision
Lecce president Sticchi Damiani has insisted he is confident that his club will keep hold of Manchester United target Patrick Dorgu in the January transfer window.
Earlier this week, MEN Sport confirmed that United had entered into talks with the Serie A club for Dorgu. Billed as a natural right-sided winger, Dorgu has been utilised on the left-hand side as both a traditional full-back and as a wing-back.
This versatility likely appealed to manager Ruben Amorim considering the lack of strength in depth in this current United team. Lecce have confirmed they have held meetings with United for Dorgu but it appears they see things as business as usual.

Speaking to Sky Italia pre-match, Damiani gave reporters an update on Dorgu. "It's not yet time to go out on a limb about the names coming in, it's not official yet but there are a series of operations underway to complete a squad that deserves some tweaks," he explained.
"Even on possible exits, we've already said that the club is putting up a resistance, which I think is logical. We have an interest in keeping the players of interest for as long as possible, we have a complicated second half of the season to deal with.
"Then obviously there's common sense, but we're confident we can keep them." This confidence has expressed itself in Lecce's team selection as they prepare to face Inter Milan in Serie A this afternoon.
Dorgu is expected to start at left-back in a 4-3-3 system as the top and bottom of Serie A meet in southern Italy.
