Real Madrid are understood to have made signing Eden Hazard their top priority this summer and reports suggest the Belgian has a secret pact in place with the Blues in anticipation of the transfer.

Spanish daily newspaper Marca claims Antonio Conte’s side promised Hazard last year that they would listen to offers from the LaLiga giants if Zinedine Zidane made his move to secure his services.

Hazard idolised the French world cup winner as a child and the Los Blancos chief was keen to sign the playmaker last summer before the 26-year-old was persuaded to stay in London following the departure of Jose Mourinho.

His relationship with the Special One had become strained after a dismal campaign, however the arrival of Conte has breathed new life into Hazard and the Blues are now set to win the Premier League title in stunning style.

Sources close to the Santiago Bernabeu believe Hazard is already learning Spanish ahead of a potential blockbuster transfer. Midfielder James Rodriguez has been touted as a potential makeweight in the deal.

Rodriguez has failed to live up to the hype after he joined Madrid in a £63million switch from Monaco after winning the Golden Boot with Colombia at the World Cup in Brazil back in 2014.

Conte is also a keen admirer of Alavaro Morata, who remains a largely peripheral figure in the Spanish capital, and could look to include the striker in any deal for Hazard in the event of Diego Costa leaving Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea paid £32million to prise Hazard away from Lille in 2012 and would be looking for a deal worth in excess of double that amount before sanctioning the sale of one of their most important players this season.

Hazard’s reported pact with the Blues is only said to represent a willingness to listen and consider any offers from Los Blancos, rather than an obligation to sell their key man against the will of manager Conte as he looks to assemble a team for next season’s Champions League campaign.

The Belgian has scored 14 goals in 35 appearances and returned to the form which saw him crowned double player of the year in 2014/15 before the dip in form which threatened to derail his glittering career.
