Everton star Andre Gomes hit with three-match ban after Mitrovic stamp
Everton’s on-loan star Andre Gomes will be suspended for most of their remaining games after accepting a ban for violent conduct.
Gomes joined the Toffees from Barcelona on a season-long deal last summer and was involved as Marco Silva’s men lost 2-0 to already-relegated Fulham on Saturday.
In the dying minutes of the defeat, the Portuguese midfielder appeared to stamp on Aleksandar Mitrovic’s ankle with the ball already gone.
The 25-year-old was subsequently charged and has accepted the punishment, meaning he will miss three of Everton’s four remaining league matches.

A statement on the FA website read: “Andre Gomes will miss Everton’s next three matches after accepting a charge of violent conduct.
“This followed an incident that was not seen by the match officials but caught on video during the 95th minute of the Premier League fixture against Fulham on Saturday [13/04/2019].”
Gomes will miss games against Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Burnley. He will be eligible to return against Tottenham on the final day of the Premier League season.
