Ex-Manchester United star Mason Greenwood makes Paul Pogba transfer plea in rare interview
Mason Greenwood says it 'would be great' if he were to be joined by ex-Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba at Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille.
Greenwood, 23, was suspended by Man United in 2022 after being charged with one count of attempted rape, once count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour. He denied all of the above and all charges were eventually dropped, though the attacker was cast out at Old Trafford and subsequently transferred to Marseille after a loan stint at Getafe.
He has since reformed his football career with 13 goals and two assists in 18 French top-flight appearances this season. He recently was awarded the division's December player of the month award.

"Stay here for many years? Of course. It's something I'd like to do, I want to win trophies here and play in the Champions League. It's a big ambition to be here, so yes," he has said in a new, rare sit-down interview with Telefoot.
According to multiple publications, in the Telefoot interview Greenwood refused to entertain questions about his past before transferring to France.
So keeping strictly to footballing matters, he was asked about the possibility of a reunion with Pogba.
"He's a great man, professional, who has taken me under his wing," Greenwood responded. "He's a top player. Any team in Europe would love to have him. If he came here it would be great."
Prior to the Frenchman's Old Trafford departure in 2022, the two players shared the dressing room for four years. Like Greenwood, Pogba's career came to a standstill in 2023 when he was found to have failed a drugs test, was later banned for four years and released by Juventus.
Upon appeal, his sentence was reduced to only 18 months. That term ends in March, therefore the 31-year-old has taken up individual training with the hope of finding a new club to resume playing this year.
"There are proposals, some of which are interesting and some not so much. Russia and so on, there were proposals but that is not the 'goal'," Pogba stated most recently.
"We have other goals. A club that plays in the Champions League? Why not? If it comes, of course, why not? We always want to join the best clubs. After that, it doesn't depend on me, it depends on many other things."
