Gossip: Tottenham to fight off £100m PSG bid for Eriksen while Loftus-Cheek targeted by German giants
As Tottenham prepare to extend their life away from White Hart Lane and play more matches at the home of football, they might also have to contemplate a starting XI without midfield maestro, playmaker and free-kick dead-eye Christian Eriksen.
Those nasty top European clubs continue to circle our vulnerable Premier League heroes with promise of nicer weather and more money what with their transfer window staying open a lot longer than England’s and all.
Eriksen might very well be looking forward to getting his own little personal zone at the new Lane but the delay in moving in and the likelihood of another trophyless season could push him towards one of Wembley Stadium’s many exit doors.

And straight to Paris St-Germain, for the princely sum of £100m claims the Express.
The 26-year-old Dane has not yet signed an extension to his contract that has two seasons left to run. So new PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is ‘ready to offload fringe players Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria to finance the move to stay within Financial Play rules’.
The prospect of playing alongside Neymar and actually putting some medals and silverware in his trophy cabinet might tempt Eriksen – even if those gongs are only Ligue 1, French Cup, Paris Senior Shield, etc.
With Spurs very unlikely to let him go, he has until August 31 to make up his mind anyway – as does ‘Chelsea’ and England star Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Having played a starring role in a World Cup semi-final campaign, the 22-year-old has attracted the attention of far bigger clubs than Crystal Palace and the Telegraph reports that Bundesliga outfit Schalke want him on loan.
Maybe not bigger than Palace then…
However, the lure of the Bundesliga might prove too much for Loftus-Cheek, left out of Chelsea’s opener against Huddersfield for Ross Barkley and having seen the club snap up Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid this season.
CLUB-BY-CLUB GUIDE TO THE TRANSFER WINDOW
The Blues are ‘extremely unlikely’ to let him go out again claims the report especially after letting Tiemoue Bakayoko exit to Milan.
Loftus-Cheek, for his part, is determined to fight for a starting place in Chelsea’s line-up and add to the current total of 33 games for his parent club. (Guardian)
More discontent from Old Trafford – Matteo Darmian wants to leave. Which is just as well because Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem to want him there either.
Queue
Serie A giants Juventus, Napoli and Inter do though, and have formed an orderly queue to snap up the 28-year-old before the Italian window shuts this week. (Manchester Evening News)

In other news, Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, 26, was unhappy not being involved in the club’s 2-0 defeat to aforementioned giants Palace and wants to leave (Mail), Liverpool are ready to offload Estonia defender Ragnar Klavan. (Liverpool Echo), Wilfried Zaha says he is “still speaking” with much-mentioned big boys Crystal Palace about extending his contract at Selhurst Park (Mail), and much-loved Charlie Adam is among a trio set to be offloaded by Championship Stoke following their Premier League relegation (Telegraph).
Oh, and the Mirror reports that Spurs ‘will sell’ Danny Rose for £50m before the end of August – with Schalke and PSG leading the race…
Seems like Schalke and PSG have too much time and money on their hands – or maybe they just like goading London’s top clubs. And Chelsea.
