Kai Havertz aims sly dig at former Chelsea teammates with five-word comment on Arsenal transfers
Kai Havertz has said he would not want to bring any former Chelsea team-mates to the Emirates Stadium. The German international has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta unlocking his potential after an initially slow start.
The Gunners forward has chipped in with 12 goals six assists in the Premier League, helping his side keep them in the hunt for a first top flight title in two decades. He previously spent three years at Chelsea but never really hit the heights expected of him, despite scoring the winner in the 2021 Champions League final.
In an interview with Chinese streaming service iQIYI, Havertz was asked if he would like to bring any of his former Chelsea team-mates to Arsenal but insisted he would not make any changes to the current squad. He said: "I don't even know, I think we have everyone here. I'm happy with the squad."
Havertz was then asked if former Blues loanee Joao Felix would be a good fit at the Emirates Stadium. He replied: "He's an amazing player, a quality player for sure. But yeah, I have to say that I'm happy with the squad."
The Germany international is thriving at Arsenal following his summer switch from Chelsea and he's proving to be a vital cog in Arteta's side. Havertz has earned plaudits for his recent performances, with the Gunners boss showering him with praise after a resounding win against Bournemouth.
Arteta said: "He was unbelievable today, honestly. Everything that he did, intelligent, timing, the movements, how he keeps the ball, the way he goes to the press, how he links the play, understanding of the game."

Arteta was delighted with the impact Havertz and his other summer recruits have made. The Spaniard added: "He was unbelievable today. That was what we were looking for and if you spend the money you better do it wisely and in the most effective way. We are really happy with the recruitment that we had, it's had a big impact in the team."
Havertz has expressed his joy at joining Arsenal, hailing the influence of Arteta and the support he's received. Speaking to TNT Sports, as quoted by the Express, he said: "I have so many good players behind me and I really enjoy the No 9 role.
"We have two more games to play and we are going to give everything. We'll enjoy those games and see how it goes. I enjoy every second. He [Arteta] taught me so many things, especially at the start when it was tough for me.
"I'm so glad I was here. Things were hard at the start but everyone stuck by me. I work hard but for me it's not easy to go into a new team."
