Karim Adeyemi shared Sadio Mane admiration as Liverpool 'considers' $47m transfer
Karim Adeyemi could be Liverpool’s next attacking import, if reports are to be believed.
The Reds have ‘held talks’ over a possible move for Borussia Dortmund winger, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Italian outlet claims Adeyemi is valued around €45m ($47m/£38m) and has also attracted interest from Napoli and Chelsea.
The 23-year-old reportedly would prefer a move to the Premier League next summer, when he enters into the final two years of his contract at Dortmund. A possible Mohamed Salah replacement, the prospect of potentially signing Adeyemi is intriguing for Liverpool fans, who have been blessed with several outstanding wide attackers in recent years.

Sadio Mane is chief among them and knows Adeyemi well from his time in the Bundlesliga. The Senegalese star spent a solitary year at Bayern Munich in 2022/23 and came up against the Liverpool-linked star, who was clearly impressed by Mane’s capabilities.
“For me, he is one of the best wingers in the world,” Adeyemi told Sky Germany in 2022 when asked about the possibility of Mane signing for Bayern. “I prefer to see him on the outside than in the centre. He would be an asset to the Bundesliga. Unfortunately with the wrong club.”
Should he sign for Liverpool, Adeyemi would offer similar qualities to Mane, such as an eye for goal, rapid acceleration and an impressive work rate out of possession. Having earned four international caps and clocked the third fastest speed in Bundesliga history, Liverpool’s reported interest should also appeal to fans.
As for Mane, who scored 120 goals during his six years on Merseyside, the forward is currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Now 32, his numbers are still impressive and the former Southampton man has contributed 12 goal contributions in 17 league matches this season.
Mane was linked with a return to European football earlier this month but wants to continue in the Saudi Pro League. "I think this is part of football, and as a player, you have to accept it. Rumours always exist, but I am no longer a young player to be influenced by them,” he told TMw. “I am here, focused on my team. It doesn't bother me. My goal is to remain with Al-Nassr and help win titles.”
