Kubrat Pulev under fire from fans after kissing female reporter in post-victory interview

Heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev has found himself the subject of heavy criticism for kissing a female reporter in a post-match interview.

The 37-year-old, from Bulgaria, was interviewed in Costa Mesa, California, after beating Bogdan Dinu with a seventh-round stoppage.

Pulev had earlier suffered a cut above the eye, which was still bleeding when he was talking to Vegas Sports Daily reporter Jenny SuShe.

She asked: “If Tyson Fury gets through Tom Schwarz, do you think you should have a shot?”

The boxer, who had been scheduled to face Anthony Joshua in October 2017 before an injury, replied ‘yes’ before forcefully kissing the reporter.

‘Disrespect’

She uncomfortably laughed at the situation, seemingly calling the kiss ‘strange’ later on Twitter, but Pulev incurred the wrath of fans afterwards.

One fan on Twitter called for ‘dire consequences’, while another called it ‘damn right disrespectful’ and went on to support the reporter’s professionalism.

Others criticised the use of ‘alpha af’, a term which the NBT Boxing account, from who the video was widely shared, used to describe the kiss.
