Liverpool player says he 'changed the game' when Arne Slot threw him on against Bournemouth
One Liverpool player believes he "changed the game" with his cameo against Bournemouth.
The Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points, with Mohamed Salah scoring twice to secure victory. Salah opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half after Cody Gakpo was adjudged to have been fouled.
However, in a hard-fought battle on the south coast, Antoine Semenyo and Marcus Tavernier both struck the woodwork as Bournemouth applied relentless pressure in search of an equalizer. Justin Kluivert also had the chance to bring his side level but fired a shot wide from close range in front of an open goal.

However, with around 15 minutes remaining, Curtis Jones delivered an inch-perfect ball to the Egyptian who curled a stunning shot into the top corner to double the lead and secure all three points.
Jones received praise for his precise pass that set up his teammate brilliantly. Speaking after the game, the 24-year-old asserted that his impact off the bench played a crucial role in securing Liverpool’s victory.
Speaking to LFCTV, he said: "It’s huge. Away from home the fans as well can smell a little bit of blood, I wouldn’t say that we took our foot off the gas but a team like them they’re going to find a way to come back into the game and that’s what they did, they came close. But I came on the pitch, I got an assist as well and I changed the game, so happy as well with that.”
Jones was a surprise addition to the squad, having been sidelined for the last two fixtures after picking up an injury against Lille in the Champions League.
In his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot didn't give an update on Jones' condition, however he was deemed fit enough to return to the bench.
Speaking on his injury, the England international added: "I had a small injury on my MCL. I’m back after 10 days out and I’ve come back and impacted the game and that’s what I’m trying to do.”
