Liverpool team vs Plymouth confirmed as Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa decisions made
Liverpool has made wholesale changes to its starting XI to face Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup, as expected. Arne Slot has taken the opportunity to rest some key men with two games per week to fulfill for the foreseeable future.
Caoimhin Kelleher keeps his place in goal having started the Carabao Cup semi-final against Spurs midweek. Across the back four, Conor Bradley doesn't feature, which perhaps hints that he will start the Merseyside derby on Wednesday with Trent Alexander-Arnold an injury doubt. Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, Jarell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas make up the defense.
In midfield, James McConnell is handed another chance to impress having done well in the Champions League against PSV. He is joined by Harvey Elliott and Trey Nyoni.

Diogo Jota leads the Liverpool attack with Federico Chiesa starting on the right. Luis Diaz is on the left wing, which is his favored position but one he hasn't played in that often lately having been frequently used down the center.
"I think it's always a tricky tie no matter what team you play because it's an away game, it's their final probably — as is many times when Liverpool comes anywhere," Slot said during his pre-match press conference. "It is true that if you play with a team that hasn't played so much together that that is always for the players a bit more difficult.
"But I think we've seen already a few times when we played with a team that hasn't played already together — even in Eindhoven in the Champions League — these players were able to play a very good game.
"I think it's important in these moments for some players that don't get [much] playing time to have their playing time, so whenever we need them they are ready. If you never play them then it's so difficult for them to be ready if we do get some injuries or suspensions. We will definitely use a few players that haven't played that much."
