Man City can soon unleash a feared frontline of the future that can change their season
It was somewhat ironic that in a month where Manchester City have begun to reshape an ageing squad that the three goalscorers in a crucial Premier League victory over Chelsea were 24 and under.
Pep Guardiola knows he needs to forward plan, so much so that the plan was brought forward with the triple capture of Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush. But the Etihad boss will also know that he has a core of players already in place to lead City's rebuild.
The January arrivals have reinforced the position and City's attack now looks primed for the future. Erling Haaland, fresh from his 10-year deal, will be the focal point and the supporting cast is an exciting and enthralling one with plenty of room to grow and improve.

Phil Foden was the best player in the country last season and his run of goals in recent weeks has shown he is finding his feet after a slow start to this campaign. At 24 and with the intelligence and skillset to play centrally or wide, he will be a key player for years to come.
Jeremy Doku and Savinho have had their moments of magic and spells out of the side this season but at 22 and 20 have bags of potential and will only benefit from time - both under Guardiola and adapting to English football. The pair have proved they can make an impact at City, the next step will be to thrive consistently.
Marmoush, 25, is the newest arrival while Claudio Echeverri (19) will join up with City next month having now completed his move from River Plate. And Guardiola will soon be able to call upon the fit-again Oscar Bobb. He has not featured since he started in the Community Shield, having fractured his leg in training when he seemed set for a larger role in the side.
Still only 21, the Norway international has shown his ability across his relatively fleeting appearances so far. He's only made two Premier League starts but that number will surely grow in the coming months.
Bobb will not be rushed back, yet his return provides Guardiola with another vibrant attacking option as one of a magnificent seven that can fire City to further glory in the coming years.
