Man City transfer latest as wonderkid spotted in major twist and Pep Guardiola sends message

Manchester City could yet dip back into the January transfer market as they seek to further strengthen their squad this month.

City have splashed out more than £120million on three signings so far but they could yet add more bodies before the window closes. And one top young talent was reportedly at the Etihad on Saturday night to take in the victory over Chelsea ahead of a potential move.

Highly-talented Norwegian talent Sverre Nypan, 18, has been linked with a move to the Premier League all season having impressed with Rosenborg in his homeland. Manchester United and Arsenal have been touted as possible destinations but City are also credited with an interest.

In the week, Norwegian press spotted him at Oslo Airport boarding a flight to Manchester, sparking speculation that he was visiting his future employers. And various reports have claimed City would make use of their multi-club model and loan him for the rest of the season to Girona in La Liga.

Nypan is a midfielder who became the youngest player in Rosenborg's history when he feature for the club at 15 years and 322 days.

Guardiola, meanwhile, believes the club will act again this month if they feel the need to. City have an interest in Atalanta midfielder Ederson but accept that will be a difficult deal to do in the winter window while former Blue Douglas Luiz, now at Juventus, is also an option but City would only seek a low-cost loan move for the Brazilian, an option Juventus are likely to find unattractive.

Reports have also emerged linking City with a swoop for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The Germany international is out of contract in the summer and has yet to agree fresh terms amid interest from the Premier League. Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old while Barcelona are also suitors.

Guardiola, speaking about whether City will dip into the market again this month, said: "I don't know. What I would like is to have the team I started the season with back. We have had unbelievable problems. The club decide what they have to do."
