Man United transfer timeline set for Ruben Amorim's first signing as eight-figure deal agreed
Manchester United appear to have set their timeline for their first signing of the Ruben Amorim era.
United have been linked with several potential new signings during the January transfer window. The Reds have until next Monday to complete their transfer business for the month, in what could be a busy end to the window.
Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu remains a target for United before the transfer window closes. United have been locked in talks with the Serie A outfit over a deal to sign the left-back, with some reports claiming a deal has been agreed in recent days.

It has been reported that United have agreed a deal worth around €35million (£29million) including add-ons, although there are suggestions that more details of the deal need to be ironed out. Now a fresh update has emerged about United's quest to sign Dorgu before the transfer window closes.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Dorgu will travel to Manchester on Saturday to complete the final details of his move to United. It has been reported that the deal will be completed this weekend where Dorgu is expected to become United's first signing of the window and since Amorim was named as the club's head coach back in November.
Left-back has been identified as the area of the squad in need of reinforcements before the transfer window closes. Luke Shaw has recently returned to training following a lengthy injury lay-off, while Tyrell Malacia has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford before the deadline.
Dorgu may not be the only signing United complete before the January transfer window closes. Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, although it seems United will have to compete with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea for his signature.
"What I can say is that the club wants to improve the team," Amorim said about his side's quest for transfers. "That is the most important thing.
"Everybody is doing things, everything, to improve the team. If we can do it or not; sometimes it doesn't depend just from the club or even the player. "We are focused on improving the team, but also we are really focused on not doing mistakes that are going to be hard in the future to go back."
One player who could leave the club is Alejandro Garnacho. The winger has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Italian side Napoli.
"I'm happy to have Garnacho here," Amorim told TNT Sports of the winger. "He's improving a lot. He's a young talented guy.
"You want to work with these guys with talent. That's what drives the coaches to improve the team; to have these kind of players that you know they are going to improve a lot. "In football, especially when we are in these situations, sometimes it's hard, but I don't want to focus on that. I'm really happy to have Garnacho playing tomorrow."
