Manchester United suffered another disappointing day in the Premier League as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. The defeat leaves United in 15th place in the table, their opponents leapfrogging them in the standings.

There was just one position and two points between the two struggling teams sitting in 14th and 15th place in the table going into the game. United were forced to name an inexperienced bench due to absences within the squad. 12 players were forced to miss the game through injury and illness.

And they found themselves behind in the first half, when the returning James Maddison capitalised on Andre Onana's parry from Lucas Bergvall's shot to put his team 1-0 up. That proved to be the winning goal; despite United's pressure in the second half, they were unable to find an equaliser, with the team left looking over their shoulder.
