It's less than a week since the transfer window closed and already Manchester United are being linked with potential new signings for the summer.

United were relatively busy in the January window when it came to both incomings and outgoings within the squad. Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven were both signed by United, while Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia all left Old Trafford on loan deals until the end of the season.

Up until deadline day there were rumours that United were extremely interested in signing a striker before the window closes. Bayern Munich star Mathys Tel was rumoured to be of interest to United, but the striker instead chose to join Tottenham Hotspur on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Days after the window closed and United are still being linked with signing a striker. According to Give Me Sport, United have identified Ipswich Tow star Liam Delap as a potential target for the summer transfer window.

The report claims that United could make a move to sign Delap, but only if they fail in their attempts to bring one of two other strikers to the club. Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres are reportedly still targets for United and are their first-choice options to strengthen the centre-forward position this summer.

Despite this stance, it has been claimed that financial reasons could restrict United's ability to sign Osimhen or Gyokeres at the end of the season. As a result, Delap has been mentioned in the report as a player that could be targeted if they can agree a deal with Ipswich.

Delap was formerly on Manchester City's books until last summer when he completed a £20million move to Ipswich, having spent last season on loan at Hull City. The 21-year-old has gone on to score nine goals in 24 appearances for the Tractor Boys this term, prompting rumours that he could be on the move again when the transfer window opens in the summer.
