Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to turn down Manchester United’s new contract offer and join LA Galaxy, according to reports in the United States.

Ibrahimovic has a new one-year deal on the table at Old Trafford but cable broadcaster Fox Deportes is claiming the Swede is set to move stateside.

Super agent Mino Raiola has reportedly hopped across the pond to discuss the transfer to the MLS as the United frontman weighs up his options.

The 35-year-old had hinted he would be staying in the Premier League as recently as last month.

He said: “I’m a person when I go into something I put my head 200 per cent and I do what I’m good at.

“I go in, I go for the kill and I go out. And when I go out, there is no complaints, that’s what I do. I never leave a job unfinished.

“I’m enjoying being at a fantastic club, without doubts, one of the biggest clubs in the world with a great coach.

“Being a Manchester United player, I don’t know how many people have that possibility but I am a Man United player, people wanted me here.”

Fox Deportes are convinced the veteran will perform a U-turn on those comments and have even mocked up an image of Ibrahimovic in a Galaxy shirt.

Manager Jose Mourinho will not want to lose the striker who has been vital to United this term after banging in 26 goals in 41 appearances for the Red Devils.

But the Special One will not stand in the player’s way if he decides to seek pastures new this summer.

Mourinho said last week: “I am just calm and waiting for the decision.

“If the decision is for him to stay and he is happy with that, we are delighted with that.

“If his decision is to leave and try to find a different challenge, I will be also happy for him.

“He is [a big part of our success this season], but the human being is more important than the player and the team.

“If his decision is to leave and try to be happy with his family and have a different reality, so be it.”
