Manchester United have been sent an update on Tottenham's reported interest in Alejandro Garnacho. Reports emerged on Friday claiming that Spurs have made a late swoop for United's academy graduate.

The North London club are said to have been eyeing a last-minute January deal for the 20-year-old Argentine, with a potential transfer fee of around £60million. It remains uncertain whether Garnacho would be open to a switch to Tottenham.

However, our colleagues at the Mirror understand that Spurs are not currently pursuing a move for the sought-after winger. Chelsea have also been linked with Garnacho, who faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Reds boss Ruben Amorim has hailed Garnacho's reaction to being dropped for the Manchester derby in December alongside Marcus Rashford, who has not played since.

"He changed right away since that game against Manchester City, the way he understands things, he understands that I just want to help him and I just want to win games," the Portuguese said after Thursday's win over FCSB.

"He changed in everything - the approach when I talk to him, the way he recovers, he understands sometimes I'm a different coach and that I'm demanding in my way. "Sometimes it's hard with the first impact because it's a different type of coach. He understands [now] that it's never in a bad way – it's always for him.

"I think all the merit is for Garnacho. He is improving and we want to continue to improve with Garnacho. On Thursday he understood the position, the moments of playing inside or outside, and the connection with Diogo Dalot is improving a lot."
