It looks a white shirt that found its way into the wrong wash cycle: Welcome to the world, Manchester United’s new pink strip for the 2018-19 Premier League season.

Pictures of the Red Devils’ away top have been revealed online after they were spotted for sale in an adidas shop in Taiwan.

Although football hipsters have long since adored Palermo’s pink top, the jury is very much out on whether it works in the Theatre of Dreams.

Some love it, some genuinely hate it, while some have ignored the pinkness and already rebranded it as ‘peach’ in a bid to soften the blow.

But the most unpleasant aspect of ‘kitgate’ for many could very well be the price which is reported to be £109.95 – the same as the brand new home shirt which was released this week with a nod to the railwaymen founders of the club in 1878 in the shape of a train line on it.

If you fancy going the whole hog, fans can add their name, number, shorts and socks for a staggering £192.85.

The bad news for United fans with money to burn is that they will have to wait until August 12 to get their hands on it – two days after Jose Mourinho & Co kick off their Premier League season at home to Leicester.

The worse news is that Marouane Fellaini will not only rise like a salmon when he heads home in a Carabao Cup away match, he will look like one as well…
