Milos Kerkez has responded to Dominik Szoboszlai while also sending his own message as speculation continues over his future following Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth.

There will have been plenty of eyes on Kerkez as the Reds claimed a crucial 2-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a Mohamed Salah double. Liverpool now sits nine points clear of closest challenger Arsenal ahead of the Gunners’ clash with Manchester City.

But while Reds fans would have been keeping their fingers crossed for a win on the south coast, there would have also been plenty of interest in one of the opposition players. Kerkez has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent months, although the left-back has suggested he doesn’t plan on making a move to Anfield.

Nevertheless, speculation has continued, and was given more fuel when Szoboszlai posted a picture of himself with Kerkez to his Instagram story shortly after Saturday’s game. The pair are teammates for their national team, with fans suggesting Szoboszlai may have been trying to tempt his fellow Hungarian to Merseyside.

Kerkez has now responded to Szoboszlai, replying with a heart emoji on another post the Liverpool midfielder made along with the caption: “Going home with 3 points today.” Kerkez’s reply inevitably led to Reds fans urging him to make the move to Anfield in his replies.

That wasn’t the only message Kerkez sent on social media, with the 21-year-old also posting on his own Instagram account with the message: “Keep pushing and growing.”

Although Kerkez has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Reds boss Arne Slot was in no mood to entertain any of the speculation when he was directly asked about the left-back following Saturday’s game.

"I don't think I have to talk about players that we are interested in, let alone a player from Bournemouth," Slot said during his post-match press conference. "He is over here and he is having a great season as many, many other players are having here as well.

"That shows you how good of a manager you have over here and what a great sporting director you had over here (Richard Hughes) and maybe still have now, I don't know who it is.

"But he (Hughes) brought in many good players and the manager works with every player to bring them in an incredible way, including the one you just mentioned. But I am not talking about an individual, they are all bringing the best out of their game at the moment."
