Morgan Rogers responds after copying Cole Palmer celebration for Aston Villa vs Chelsea
Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers has insisted he was not copying Chelsea star Cole Palmer with his celebration on Saturday night.
The former Manchester City forward did well to find the bottom corner on the stroke of half-time. As he wheeled away in celebration, Rogers rubbed his shoulders and shivered in the same manner that Palmer has been doing for the Blues this season.
This led to many supporters claiming that the former Middlesbrough man was copying Palmer. However, discussing the moment after the game, Rogers claimed that Palmer may have actually stolen the celebration from him.
He told reporters: "He definitely copied me. It’s my celebration. Check the timeline, I did it first."
However, any annoyance that may have been conveyed by the Villa man was put to bed as Rogers explained his close bond with Palmer. The duo played alongside each other at City and the 21-year-old could not be happier for Palmer.
Rogers continued: "He’s one of my closest friends in life. I couldn’t be more proud of him. He’s showing everyone what I knew he could do two or three years ago."

Chelsea would ultimately have the last laugh as Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher pulled Mauricio Pochettino's side level. It had seemed that Axel Disasi had won the contest in stoppage time when he headed home from close range but the goal would be ruled out for a foul in the build-up.
The draw leaves Chelsea ninth in the Premier League and with European football next season being pushed out of reach.
