Neymar ruled out for two months with broken foot
PSG striker Neymar will miss the next two months of the season after suffering a fractured metatarsal and sprained ankle during his side’s 3-0 Ligue 1 defeat of Marseille at the weekend.
The 26-year-old Brazil star – the world’s most expensive player – has a “fissure of the fifth metatarsal” – a bone on the outside of the foot – and a “sprain of the right ankle” according to a club statement.
He has opted for surgery and will definitely miss next week’s Champions League second leg clash with Real Madrid with the French side looking to peg back a 3-1 deficit.

And the Brazilian faces a race against time to be fit for this summer’s World Cup in Russia – his Brazil counterpart Gabriel Jesus missed 10 weeks of this season after suffering a similar injury and opting for surgery.
However, PSG Coach Unai Emery has blasted ‘false reports’ that Neymar needs to undergo surgery.
Emery said: “The reports Neymar will undergo surgery are totally false. Today I met with the doctor and he told me of the full extent of the injury and the decisions to be taken regarding his recovery.
“We will see how he progresses before making a decision, and that will be made with the player himself.
“For now, we are calm and are waiting to see how Neymar recovers – if he does, that’s fantastic and if not, we have alternatives.”
Neymar cost a world-record £195m when he signed from Barcelona last summer.
