Rio Ferdinand makes bold Mohamed Salah prediction with another Thierry Henry record in sight
As Liverpool comfortably dispatched of Ipswich Town at Anfield, Mohamed Salah quietly hit another milestone. By scoring his side's second goal on the day, he overtook Thierry Henry in the Premier League goalscoring charts.
Salah is now on 176 goals — just one behind Frank Lampard and with Sergio Aguero in sight too — which places him seventh on the all-time list. The Egyptian is also in the top 10 for assists, where he is just 10 behind Steven Gerrard.
With Salah scoring and assisting regularly — he now has 19 goals and 13 assists in 22 Premier League appearances this season — he could also have another Henry record in his sights. Knowing him, he will definitely be aware of it.

Rio Ferdinand believes Salah could beat Henry's 20 goals and 20 assists season for Liverpool this year. Henry did it with Arsenal in 2002/03 when he scored 24 times.
"The trajectory that Mo Salah is on right now, he surpasses [Henry's record], it seems," Ferdinand told TNT Sports. "Whether he can do that is a different story. You need a bit of luck in terms of staying fit and maintaining form.
"You need your team to keep providing you chances, and you to keep putting them on a plate for other people. But the form that he’s in, the run that he’s on, and the fact that they’re top of the league and are full of confidence, you can’t bet against him."
Liverpool.com says: With 16 matches left, Salah will surely be able to get seven more assists which will take him to 20. At his current rate of scoring and assisting, he will end the league campaign on 32 goals and 22 assists, which would not just beat Henry, but absolutely smash his record out of the park. He's a remarkable footballer and his new contract is a must.
