Ruben Amorim comments on Marcus Rashford could impact possible deal for Manchester United forward
Ruben Amorim's comments about Marcus Rashford could force Manchester United into compromising on a cut-price deal for the forward.
Amorim suggested he would rather play his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach, Jorge Vital, than Rashford or any other player who is not fully committed.
Sources believe Amorim's comments, whilst well received by the majority of United matchgoers, have weakened the club's bargaining position as they seek a taker for one of their highest earners.

Rashford's salary of £325,000-a-week is proving prohibitive ahead of Monday's winter transfer window deadline. His representatives have held informal discussions with Tottenham and West Ham, clubs on the lookout for a striker.
United would ideally replace Rashford with an attacking addition this month but they are dependent on the England international leaving before the 11pm deadline on February 3.
Amorim claimed Rashford is not giving the "maximum" during training sessions after United beat Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday. United's training session on Wednesday morning before they travel to Bucharest to face FCSB in the Europa League will be open to the media for 15 minutes.
"It’s the same, it’s always the same reason," Amorim said. "The reason is the training, the way I see what footballers should do in training, in life, it’s every day, every detail.
"So if things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player. If you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player.
"And you can see it today on the bench, we miss a little bit of pace to go and change the game, move some pieces. But I prefer it like that. I will put Vital on before I put a player on that doesn’t give the maximum every day. So I will not change in that department."
Rashford outlined his desire for a "new challenge" after he was dropped from the United squad for the Manchester derby on December 15. The 27-year-old has not played in United's past 11 matches and has been omitted from all but one of their matchday squads.
