Fulham have opened up talks with Ryan Sessegnon over a new deal at Craven Cottage.

The teenager is one of the most sought after young players in English football, but looks set to commit his future to Slavisa Jokanovic’s side by inking a new long-term contract in west London, according to the BBC.

At the age of 18, Sessegnon has already made 89 appearances for Fulham and attracted interest from a whole host of clubs over the summer.

Spurs were credited with having a major interest in signing the left-sided player, while Manchester United were also tipped to be monitoring his progress.

Sessegnon was one of the stars of Fulham’s promotion-winning campaign, scoring 16 goals and picking up a hatful of awards at the end of the season.

Despite only turning 18 in May, he was named Championship player of the year, young player of the year and apprentice of the year, leading to speculation that he might have been called up to the England squad for the World Cup in Russia.

That did not come to fruition, but it is only a matter of time before senior international recognition comes his way.

Sessegnon can play as a left-back or a left-winger and has started four of Fulham’s Premier League games this season.
