Saka update and two more things spotted in Arsenal training before title-deciding Everton game

Bukayo Saka of Arsenal looks on during the Premier League match between Manchester United and Arsenal FC at Old Trafford on May 12, 2024 in Manchester, England.

Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal players have been enjoying the final week of the 2023/24 on the training pitches. The Gunners ensured the Premier League title race will go down to the last game of the season following their win against Manchester United, which pushed them onto 86 points, however the advantage is no longer with them.

Manchester City's win against Tottenham on Tuesday evening moved them above Mikel Arteta's side and up to 88 points before their clash against West Ham this Sunday. Arsenal, meanwhile, welcome Everton to Emirates Stadium needing City to drop points in order to win the league.

With all of that being said, Arsenal face a decisive number of sessions to prepare for this weekend's high-stakes clash. Here, takes a look at everything spotted from their latest training session which took place in familiar surroundings.

No Saka pics

Though Arteta delivered a positive update on Bukayo Saka following his withdrawal against Manchester United, he was absent from the training photos uploaded to Arsenal's official website.

As was the case in the lead up to the Gunners travelling to Old Trafford, Saka was not seen in training but he still started that weekend and that will likely be the case again. Arsenal will certainly need their star man fit if they aim to record another victory with the hope it could be enough to win the title.

Arteta omen

Arsenal supporters will certainly fancy their chances of beating Everton this Sunday. Firstly, the North Londoners have been in impeccable form in recent months with their ability to break down low-blocks, particularly at home, a skill that has definitely been honed this season.

Maybe one reason for exactly that has been the decision to train at Emirates Stadium ahead of home games that weekend, with that action taken again. Before fixtures against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, Arsenal have trained on their own patch with Arteta clearly of the belief it could make a difference on matchday, despite his side being beaten by the latter earlier this year.

Odegaard joy

On several occasions from the latest training session, club captain Martin Odegaard was captured full of joy and happiness.

After being pictured celebrating by himself with his arms lifted up, the Norway international was then also seen high-fiving Reiss Nelson with a huge smile on his face. Odegaard, particularly in the second half of the season, has been sensational and will undoubtedly continue to be a pillar of Arteta's project after penning a new deal late last year.
