New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been true to his word to bring the ‘fun’ back to Chelsea by allowing his players to take time off to attend Cesc Fabregas’s wedding party this weekend.

After a long and protracted contract stand-off with Napoli, Sarri was finally confirmed as Chelsea boss last week, where he used the word ‘fun’ 11 times at his official unveiling.

Even though Sarri has precious little time to work with his new players and install his famous ‘Sarri-ball’ philosophy, he is keen to take a more relaxed approach.

Chelsea arrived back in London this morning after beating beat Australian side Perth Glory 1-0, and the Italian originally planned on holding a training session on Wednesday.

However, upon hearing many of his players had been invited to Fabregas’ wedding party Tuesday night, Sarri decided to make Wednesday’s session optional.

The Blues’ boss is still unsure of the future of star players Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, who are reportedly targets of Real Madrid this summer, saying he hasn’t had a chance to meet them face-to-face yet.

“I do like to talk to a person face-to-face,” Sarri said, “I do not like to talk to a person by telephone.

“I do not know [if they will be sold] it depends on the club. It is clear that, for me, it is a pleasure to have Courtois, to have Willian, and to have Hazard.

“But it does not depend on me, so we have to wait, I am confident.”
