Alex Ferguson 'sitting up and asking about his results’ after emergency brain haemorrhage surgery
Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be “sitting up” and “asking about his results” following emergency surgery on a brain haemorrhage.
The 76-year-old is reportedly out of an induced coma and showing promising early signs of recovery after collapsing at his home in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on Saturday.
Sir Alex, Britain’s most successful manager, was taken to an intensive care unit at Salford Royal Hospital in Greater Manchester after suffering a seizure.
He is said to have complained about feeling unwell on Thursday before collapsing two days later.
The news of his illness has shocked the footballing world, with messages of support pouring in to the club.
However, close friends and family are said to be cautiously optimistic about his chances of recovery following the surgery, which was said to have gone “very well”.
