Must Haves

Defenders

At the back, the main pick from these fixtures will be Chelsea coverage. Against Middlesbrough at home it is hard to see the Blues conceding, let alone losing! For that reason, it could be wise to bring in the likes of Marcus Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta and even the man in-between the sticks, Thibaut Courtois. The other 2 fixtures could see some limited defensive fantasy football points and for that reason, the best bets would be to go with the wing backs that could potentially find themselves high up the pitch, such as Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia and Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne.

Midfielders

In the middle of the park, Eden Hazard is a must! The Belgian is in brilliant from, with 4 goals and an assist in the last 5 Premier league games and coming up against Boro on Monday, it’s hard to see his run ending. Another player in good form is Phillippe Coutinho, and although Coutinho’s in a fitness race this weekend, if the Brazilian is even close to fit, he will play and he could produce some brilliant fantasy football points once again. Other than these two, it’s unlikely that any other picks will be too popular, but it may be wise to pick some differentials such as Mesut Ozil or Ander Herrera. Ozil has picked up 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 and Herrera has managed 1 goal and 3 assists in his last 5.

Forwards

Up top, we continue the Chelsea theme and the pick of the bunch is Diego Costa. Costa’s scoring record can be a bit inconsistent, however the forward does have 2 goals and an assist in his last 2 and it would take a brave man to bet against him finding the back of the net again. Our final must have from the Sunday and Monday fixtures is Arsenal’s main man, Alexis Sanchez. If Arsenal are to find the back of the net against United, it could be through the Chilean and with his contract saga not sorted, he may just fancy putting in a big display!

Must Nots

Defenders

At the back, it’s obvious the first must nots are to be Middlesbrough players. With an extremely tough game this weekend, second-to-last face up against the Champions-elect and Boro may just be planning for life in the Championship. It will be wise to avoid their defenders and thus Ben Gibson and Victor Valdes kick off the must nots this week. With United struggling to name a back four with all their injuries, they may just struggle against Arsenal this weekend and therefore David De Gea and Daley Blind make the list of must nots.

Manchester United's world record fee signing, Paul Pogba

Midfielders

Paul Pogba is yet to truly settle into life in the Premier League and has faced many critics this season. Coming up against Arsenal this weekend, it may just take a big player to make the difference and to back Pogba to be that man may be a bit of a risk! Marten De Roon has managed to score 4 goals this season, however with a fixture against the league leaders, its unlikely to see him extend this tally and therefore he makes the must not list this week.

Forwards

The main must not this weekend is Alvaro Negredo. Granted, he managed to score and assist against former team Manchester City, however he also failed to score against Sunderland, Bournemouth, and Burnley etc. With that in mind, coming up against Chelsea this weekend means he should be avoided! Our final must not of the weekend is Liverpool’s forward, Divock Origi. With Sadio Mane out injured, many backed this man to take full advantage and nail down his spot in Liverpool’s starting XI. However, he has failed to do so and hasn’t managed a goal in his last 4. Origi and Liverpool come up against a defensively strong Southampton side who do have 3 clean sheets in their last 6, so it may once again be tough for Origi find the back of the net.
